Buy Fresh Buy Local Illinois Announces Farm-to-Table Restaurant Award Winners

Buy Fresh Buy Local (BFBL) is pleased to announce the winners of the first annual Illinois’ Favorite Farm-to-Table Restaurant Awards. Diners from across the state voted for their favorite restaurants listed in the BFBL Illinois Directory. The restaurants that received the most votes in each of the five BFBL regions were announced as winners. Regions include Central, Southern, Western, Northern, and Chicago.

The winner and runner-up for each category are as follows:

• Central:
  • Winner: Engrained Brewery & Restaurant
  • Runner-up: The Barn
• Southern:
  • Winner: Underground Public House
  • Runner-up: Seasoning Bistro
• Western:
  • Winner: Thyme Square Bakery & Cafe
  • Runner-up: Magnolia’s Catering
• Chicago:
  • Winner: River Valley Farmer’s Table
  • Runner-up: Redbird Cafe
• Northern:
  • No participants this year

Winners were announced in a video posted on the Buy Fresh Buy Local Facebook page on Sunday, October 4th. The winner of each region will receive a badge for their restaurant to have on display, a feature on the Buy Fresh Buy Local website and social media, and bragging rights for the next year. And speaking of the next year, the winners will be highlighted in the 2021 Buy Fresh Buy Local printed Local Food Guide!
