Get Listed in 2023-2024 Buy Fresh Buy Local Guides

Calling all local farmers and business owners: The Piedmont Environmental Council is working on completing its 2023-2024 Buy Fresh Buy Local guides to be printed and mailed to 300,000+ households at the end of April this year. See the 2021-2022 guides for reference.

In order for us to have the best picture of Piedmont’s local food system, we need your help! We will be pulling the information for the print guide from your Buy Fresh Buy Local farm listing on Virginia MarketMaker, so please be sure to update your listing by February 10, 2023. If you would like to register your business for the first time and therefore join a searchable directory where consumers and retailers can find your business easier, please follow these instructions.

There’s a lot going on at Cattle Run Farm (www.cattlerunfarm.com) as I quickly discovered when I pulled into the gravel driveway on the first day of spring. I parked next to a white VW bug with a 4H sticker on its side and soon found myself talking with Sarah Morton. She was readying the main house for its upcoming grand opening as the Sarah James Inn, an Airbnb destination.
